ONDUTILE
INTRODUCTION AND
BENEFITS
Ondutile
is a unique roof underlay system that utilises Onduline PP corrugated roofing sheets to create a secondary weather-proof membrane under a conventional tile, slate or shingle
roof covering. This enables the primary roofing material to be used safely below the manufacturer’s minimum recommended pitch. |
| |
BENEFITS |
Weather protection |
Being quick to install, Ondutile will provide
fast weather protection for the building allowing tiles to be fixed when conditions are suitable. |
Ventilation |
The sheet corrugations and additional battening
provide 17,000mm per linear meter of extra ventilation into the roof space. |
Moisture protection |
Because the tile battens and fixings are positioned above the moisture
flow line excellent moisture protection is provided for the tile battens. |
Thermal
insulation |
The addition of the Onduline deck significantly
improves the thermal performance of the roof.
Sound
insulation |
Ondutile achieves a 27% reduction in the sound
penetration through the roof; a considerable benefit for buildings on airport flight paths. |
Safety |
Ondutile forms a tough non-reflective and safe
working environment for roofing operations. |
Versatility |
The Ondutile underlay is flexible enough to be
used on uneven roof structures but with a stiffness to eliminate the noise generated by lightweight membranes under fluctuations in wind pressure. |
Security
Ondutile will significantly reduce the risk of
expensive consequential damage to the building and contents in the event of damage to the primary roof through storms or vandalism.
